A Norwegian family vacationing in La Palma faces chaos when a researcher discovers signs of an imminent volcanic eruption that could cause a massive tsunami. The geographic coordinates shown are the exact point on Tenerife that is seen as a “safe place” from the tsunami. 28.218998 -16.414642. Aside from the silly antics of the annoying characters (we all know who they are), I enjoyed this series. It was well-crafted and intense, especially the last two episodes. However, towards the end of the series, one question bothered me, so much so that it prompted me to write this review. Assuming you could protect yourself from the gases and lava, wouldn’t it have been safer to stay in La Palma? The tsunami traveled in the other direction, away from the island (unlike the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami, which started in the middle of the ocean and reached the shore), so you would think that the high ground on the other side of the landslide would have provided protection.
