Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a well-paid offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre film. With a tight budget and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the assignment. The footage shows people being tortured and even murdered on video – surely it’s just carefully choreographed fiction. But when this first job leads to even more lucrative work and eerily realistic snuff films, Katie’s life begins to unravel. Strange figures appear in her apartment, nightmares keep her awake, and her cat is plagued by a mysterious illness. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she discovers just how cruel her anonymous employer is and the lengths she will go to get out of her contract.
